  • To identify the major components of a robot

  • Develop basic skills in robot design

  • Develop basic skills in the fabrication of robots

  • Learn basic computer programing.

  • Develop knowledge of facts, terminology, concepts, and principles related to engineering and the design process.

  • Develop basic research and presentation skills.

  • Investigate STEM-related career opportunities

Course Materials Fee

In order to participate in our class labs for robotics, each student will have to pay the required class fee of $30.

Please send this with your student as soon as possible. The $30 materials fee is to be brought to the school banker.

If you have any concerns about the fee please feel free to contact me.

Expectations

  • Attend class daily, on time and ready to work.

  • Participate and contribute to group assignments and projects.

  • Maintain a daily, complete, organized engineering notebook

  • Have all assignments done and submitted when they are due.

  • Review work done each day.

  • Spend an appropriate amount of time preparing for tests.

  • Exercise safety and common sense at all times.

  • Have a mutual respect for fellow students and their right to an education

The hands-on nature of the course will require daily participation and effort. Daily attendance is very important.  Alternative assignments may be assigned as make-up work, however missing out on the work in class will sometimes result in missing key concepts.

Scheduling a tutoring session to make-up essential work may also be required. Assignments missed will be found online in our Google Classroom class. Since make-up work can vary, it is essential that the student check-in with me after an absence to ensure that the correct work is completed.  Students will have three days to complete make-up work from the day they return from their absence.
